No sign of aging, but it's hard to imagine it getting a whole lot better; maybe the fruit could calm down a little. Wish I had more, so I could find out, but sadly this was our last bottle. |

Doing well, although if you're more of a youthful side of merlot fan, this one is probably one you need to gift to your merlot friends that like them with some age and briar patch on them (donations accepted :) Drink within the next 2-3 years. |

Here's the answer: this is a wine made with character and consistency. A 100 point wine it is not. A 93 point wine it definitely is. A red fruit dominant wine without a doubt. Nose of candied red cherries, cherry cordial, red licorice, wildflower and pomegranate juice. If blinded on this wine, I would have guessed it was a Cabernet Franc by the nose. Palate that is still red fruited but with brambly character. Red licorice quite present. Acidic front carries through to the middle and finish. White pepper and black pepper finish. But quite enjoyable honestly, and went very well with charcuterie meats and cheeses as well as a pimento cheese dish with veggies. I still think this wine is youthful, but the ONLY gripe I have with this wine is that it was corked with a composite cork and not a real cork which means you have 7 years to enjoy this before the coin toss on cork integrity starts. A bit of a bummer since I have had these wines with 10+ years age on them and they hold quite well. A sub 90 grocery store wine it is definitely not. Drink or hold. |

Tannins resolved, bouquet and flavors are all seamless, linear cocoa, with no rough edges. Soft and sexy, but voluptuous. Won't remind anyone of a top-notch bottling, but has mellowed nicely into this nice warm, inviting, comfortable wine. Pretty stuff. 5-12-16-8: 91/100. |

Rich, deep, dark red fruit that has just enough age and body on it to take it into the preserved and dried fruit character rather the bold acidic ripe fruit. Mellowed tannins and the most wonderful plush mouthfeel. I think this is hitting its stride. |

Palate gives you exactly what the nose does with great salinity, rounded mouth feel on the front with a more jagged finish. There's a bit of yellow peach in there without a doubt. The finish has a ton of white pepper and went well with both the flatbread pizza as well as the shrimp stir fry (yes, dinner was pretty eclectic). This wine really is in a great spot now, but in 5-7 yrs it will still be going strong. |

Aromas of dark fruit and tobacco a little restrained when first opened and poured into the largest Bordeaux stems I own. Let the wine sit in the glasses with occasional swirling for over 2-1/2 hours while the rib roast was cooking. The wine opened up nicely with complex dark fruit, plums, black cherries, cassis and tobacco with a little sweetness. Tannins carried the long finish that has mellowed with balanced acidity. One of the best cabs I can remember drinking. It was absolutely perfect with a heavily seasoned rare rib roast on New Years Eve. |

These notes are so similar to my original tasting notes from a few years ago… it’s like this wine is in suspended animation…. Enjoy it … it’s not sophisticated or elegant but still a wonderful evening sipper. |
